Are you a drinker with a running problem? Then look no further. We here at Find Your Speed 5K & 10K are all about providing you with a top-notch experience full of beer, running, and smiles. Hosted in Des Moines at the SingleSpeed Taproom and in Waterloo at the SingleSpeed Brewery, these running event have everything you are looking for in a run/walk: beer, sunshine, scenic course, and a post-race party that you won’t want to miss!

Beer Mile
Four – 12 oz beers, each followed by its own 400 meter dash.
If you survive we promise a post-race party for the ages.
ALL RUNNERS – Costumes HIGHLY recommended!
- Competition beer will be Beer Mile ’24 (a kolsch that is 5.0% ABV in 12oz cans. Nice and light.
- Fast AF wave is the elite wave (first wave)
- Puking for this event is defined as the emptying of any contents from your stomach through your nose or mouth.
- If you puke at any time during the race, you will…
- Fast AF wave: be required to run one penalty lap; immediately following you 4th lap.
- Other waves: receive a penalty time equal to your last lap.
- When you feel the need to puke, please aim for the numerous trash cans around the area.
- A cut-off time of 20 minutes will be implemented.
BEER MILE RELAY – 4 person relay teams.
- Costumes not mandatory but highly encouraged.
- 1 person (el capitan) signs up the entire team and pays the total amount.
- Venmo your captain back or suffer the consequences.
- Each runner drinks one beer and runs one lap.
- A team baton will be used to pass off to the next team member. You cannot start drinking until you have the baton!
- If the baton hits the ground at ANY TIME = 30 second penalty.
- If anyone in the team pukes at ANY TIME = penalty time of the slowest lap added to overall time.
